In the obituary of E.L. THOMAS on May 14, 1925, it mentioned that he became a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge at Alma in 1890, with which he was affiliated with for 35 years.
The building on Alma's corner (of what is now Rt. 37 and 7th Street (aka Main Street)) originally held the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Alma, as well.
On the stone at the top building, you can see where the I.O.O.F. stone had been set, but sometime before this photo in 1911, the stone had fallen or been removed.
The lodge was known as Nathan Lodge #876 and was instituted on March 30, 1897.
It was closed on January 11, 1935.
