"Easter in Kinmundy" (1954-1972) - by Helen (Robb) Garrett
At around 1 p.m. all the children and parents in the Kinmundy area gathered at Lowes Grove southeast of Kinmundy on McCarty Road. The Lions Club members colored and hid eggs in three places roped off. The kids stood near the ropes with baskets and sand buckets ready to run at the 2 p.m. signal. There was a golden egg hidden in each age group. The ones that found the golden egg got a basket of goodies, candy, and toys from Tresslars 5&10 in Salem. This was something we all looked forward to.
