"The Kinmundy Express" - Sept. 22, 1938 - "The Friendship Baptist Church, 2 miles west of the overhead crossing south of Alma, burned down Saturday. It caught from a spark on the roof which blew from burning trash which had been cleaned off the church year in preparing for a ralley and basket dinner to be held there Sunday by the Brubaker Baptist Church."

"The Kinmundy Express" - Oct. 30, 1941 - "Mr. and Mrs. Earl Furry of Kinmundy visited last Sunday at the Fred Griffin home then all attended the dedication services at the new Baptist Church in Brubaker."

"The Kinmundy Express" - March 26, 1942 - "Sun Rise Easter Service" - "Sun Rise Easter service will be held at the Brubaker Baptist Church beginning at 6 a.m., lasting for one hour. The service will consist of congregational and special singing and worship service based on the occasion of the day. Be sure and attend this Sun Rise Service or a like service some where."
"The Kinmundy Express" - June 10, 1943 - "Commencement Exercises" - "Pleasant Grove" - "Eighth Grade Commencement is to be held Saturday night at the Baptist Church in Brubaker."

Calvary Missionary Baptist Church
(This church began services at the Town Hall in Brubaker, then moved to the old Happy Hollow Schoolhouse building, and lastly moved to the Alma Hatchery Building.)
"The Kinmundy Express" - May 31, 1951 - A two-week revival meeting will begin at the Brubaker Baptist Church (Town Hall) Saturday night, June 2nd. Services each evening at 7:45. Rev. S.P. Chitwood and Rev. J.L. Britton, of Missouri, will be the evangelists. Everybody welcome.

"Missionary Baptist Church" - Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Brubaker. Sunday School every Sunday morning at 10:00. Preaching every 2nd and 4th Sunday 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Prayer meeting every Thursday night at 7:30. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Mt. Carmel church near Omega. Everyone welcome. Seymore Chitwood, Pastor."

"The Kinmundy Express" - June 9, 1955 - "Revival Meeting"
"The Calvary Missionary Baptist Church (Happy Hollow School) in Brubaker, will hold a two weeks revival, beginning Monday, June 13. Services will begin each evening at 7:30 with Bro. Grover Laird, of Paducah, Ky,, evangelist. Everyone is welcome."
"The Kinmundy Express" - July 26, 1956 - "Purchases Building": "The Calvary Missionary Baptist Church congregation who have been holding services at Happy Hollow School have moved to the Alma Hatchery building, which they have recently purchased. The location of the building is 1 - 1/2 miles south of Alma, and 1/4 mile west of the Old Mt. Moriah corner. A revival will begin July 30 at 7:30 p.m. The Evangelist will be Elder H.C. Pape of St. Louis, Mo."
"The Kinmundy Express" - Oct. 15, 1959 - "A Revival will be held at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1 - 1/2 miles southwest of Alma, starting Monday night, October 19, at 7:30. Elder Sterling Chitwood, Jr., is the evangelist."
